The Eclipse Kettle available in two unusual colours, moonlight blue and copper sunset. Moonlight blue is pictured above. Both colours are beautifully faded to give the Eclipse Kettle its remarkable style. The style is enhanced by the fact that the kettle is slim.

On top of this, the kettle is packed with modern features, making it an all round great product. Some of the features include the perfect pour spout, the illuminating water chamber, the push button lid and the energy saving measures.

About Russell Hobbs

The Eclipse Kettle is yet another kettle by the famous household appliance company Russell Hobbs. They've been selling kettles since the 1950s and have proved themselves trustworthy and reliable. They also sell toasters, bread makers, coffee machines, irons and more.

We will list the features in detail:

  • Capacity - 1.7 Litres. Average for Russell Hobbs kettles.
  • Dimensions - 15.8cm x 22.5cm x 24.5cm.
  • Wattage - 3000W.
  • Fast Boil - The kettle boils 1 cup of water (235ml) in around 45 seconds.
  • Up to 75% Quieter Boil - When tested against other Russell Hobbs kettles without quiet boil technology, the Eclipse Kettle is up to 75% less noisy.
  • Cup Markers - There's a 1/2/3 cup rapid boil zone in the kettle. These are essentially water level markers which indicate how many cups worth of water are inside the kettle. They have the effect of allowing you to fill the kettle with exactly the amount of water you require, therefore saving energy as the boil is quicker. They are removable if needed.
  • Water Window - There's a water window on the side of the kettle. When boiling, the water chamber lights up. The water window has 2, 4 and 6 cup markers on it, and also shows the maximum (1.7 litre) capacity.

Push Button Lid

There's a button which opens the lid on top of the kettle's handle. This means that filling the kettle is simple, and can be done with one hand. This is demonstrated below:

Perfect Pour Spout

The shape of the spout means that water pours in a directed and stable manner. This results in reduced spilling and splash-back, therefore keeping your worktop clean and dry.

Matching Toaster

As luck would have it, Russell Hobbs also produce a matching toaster with the same design as the kettle, as pictured below.

The box contains the kettle and an instruction booklet. It will look similar to the below:

In summary, the Eclipse Kettle is a great kettle, both style wise and in terms of features. It certainly has a unique design, with the colour fades and polished stainless steel finish. It would suit most modern kitchens and offices. Definitely an easy recommendation on our part. We rate it 4.5 out of 5 stars.
