ANSIO Kettle Review

The ANSIO Glass Kettle is a 2200W electric kettle with a 1.7 litre capacity. It has a large glass water chamber sandwiched between two bands of stainless steel. And to complete the look, it has a ring of LEDs which illuminate the boiling water a brilliant blue. Interestingly, unlike most kettles, it has a choice of controller - Strix or Otter. Feature wise the ANSIO Kettle is up to modern standards. It has a flip top lid, a removable and washable filter, a 360 degree base, a wide mouth for easy cleaning and multiple safety features. It appears to be of sturdy construction, with a large black plastic handle.

Specification

We now take a look at the features:

• Capacity - 1.7 Litres. A good capacity which equates to about 6-7 cups.
• Dimensions - 25cm x 22cm x 22cm.
• Illumination - When boiling, a ring of LEDs around the bottom will illuminate blue.
• Water Level Indicator - On the side of the glass is a water gauge marking 0.5L (minimum), 1.0L and 1.7L (maximum).
• Flip Open Lid - A handy flip open lid is controlled through the use of a push button situated on the handle. It's within reach of your thumb whilst the kettle is being held, so the kettle can be filled with one hand only.
• Removable and Washable Filter - There's a limescale filter inside the spout. It's removable so it can be rinsed under a tap and reinserted. It will remove large particles other than limescale too.
• 360 Degree Base - The kettle boils on a base meaning the kettle is therefore cordless. The base is a 360 degree swivel base meaning the kettle can be placed on it facing any direction. Bases such as these are suitable for both left and right handers.
• Automatic Shut Off - For safety and convenience, when the boiled water is up to temperature the kettle will switch itself off.
• Boil Dry Protection - The heating element will be switched off if the kettle boils all of its water away.

Summary

Overall a sound kettle. Its main point of interest is its large glass water window. The blue LED illumination enhances the overall feel. Its features are fairly standard, with a flip top lid, reusable filter, 360 degree base, automatic shut off and boil dry protection. A solid kettle which we rate 4.5 out of 5 stars.
