The Russell Hobbs 25240 Geo Kettle is a unique take on a modern kettle. While most modern kettles go for the cylindrical design with a smooth exterior, the Geo Kettle features a volcano cone shape with a geometric outer design.

As a premium kettle, the Geo Kettle is packed with features that are expected from contemporary kettles. Of these features, the most notable is the rapid boil facility that allows you to have that final cup of tea just before work or an appointment.
Another significant feature is the up to 65% reduction in energy saved when boiling 1 cup (235ml) against 1 litre. There are cup level indicators inside the kettle to help with this.
As mentioned above, the shape of the kettle is cone-like. The colour is described by Russell Hobbs as "gunmetal grey", which is interesting to say the least. The outer architectural design is something which I've certainly never seen before on a kettle, but I can see how it would match certain kitchen styles, such as the one below:
Also, unlike most contemporary kettles, rather than having a boiling indicator on the on/off switch, this kettle features a white ring which illuminates around the bottom of the outside. Rather a nice touch in my opinion.
Russell Hobbs are known throughout Europe and the US. They're a household appliance manufacturer, who specialise in kitchen appliances. As well as kettles, they sell toasters, microwaves, bread makers, irons, etc. They've been around since the 50s, and have created quite the strong reputation for themselves.
In further detail, the Geo Kettle has the following:
The hinged lid is controlled by a soft push button on the lid itself. Simply push, and the lid gently opens. The kettle can then be filled and the lid will lock back down. This is demonstrated below:
There's a fine-mesh anti-scale filter inside the spout. This is removable, washable and reusable. It's pictured below:
The base is 360 degrees. This is not only convenient, but handy as the kettle can pivot around it. Underneath the base is space to store the electrical cord. The base is as below:
There are two videos featured on the amazon.co.uk website, explaining the features of the kettle.
Russell Hobbs also sell a toaster which matches the design of this kettle. At the time of writing, both are available on amazon.co.uk. Here's a picture of both the kettle and the toaster together:
Overall, the Geo Kettle is a great addition to the kitchen, and it certainly lives up to its reputation as a premium kettle. The design is unique, but is definitely suited to most kitchens out there. Of particular note is the rapid boil facility and the energy saving (lower electric bill) features. We give this kettle 4.5/5 and recommend it wholeheartedly.
