The Russell Hobbs 26051 Honeycomb Kettle is a modern style honeycomb textured kettle which is ideal for contemporary kitchens. It also features many of the standard hallmarks of modern electric kettles such as a hinged thumb controlled lid, boil dry protection, a water window and a whole host of energy saving measures. The Honeycomb Kettle is therefore perfect for busy mornings before work, or lunch times in offices.

Design

The kettle is sturdy, well constructed and sits firmly on its base. There are reviews out there suggesting that the kettle is long lasting and durable, but of course this depends on how often it's used. The feedback seems encouraging, however. It's also lightweight and easy to control when pouring.

Style

As mentioned above, the kettle is available in four colours, namely black (as pictured above), grey, cream and white. I find the white model looks quite smart. It's received many positive comments. I include a picture of it below:

Specification

In a bit more detail, the specification of the kettle is as follows:

• Capacity - 1.7 Litres. This is standard for most Russell Hobbs kettles.
• Boil Dry Protection - If the kettle is turned on with little or no water, then it switches itself off. This is a basic safety feature which most kettles have.
• Perfect Pour Spout - The spout is designed in such a way that splutters, splashes and spills are reduced. The spout essentially focusses the water in a narrow and more controllable stream.
• 360 Degree Base - Such a base means the kettle can be placed at any orientation on it. This is particularly useful when a kettle is used by both left handers and right handers as the kettle can be placed with its handle facing different ways.
• Energy Saving - The kettle is advertised as saving up to 66% energy. There's an internal 1 cup, 2 cup, 3 cup indicator inside the kettle which allows you to fill the kettle with only the water you need. This can have a very positive impact on your energy bills if adhered to.
• Water Window - As expected with a modern kettle, there is a water level indicator under the handle to show exactly how much water is inside the kettle.
• Cord Storage - The cord can be stored in the base if necessary.
• Rapid Boil - The kettle is a rapid boil kettle. It advertises that it can boil 1 cup (235ml) in 43 seconds.

Push Button Hinged Lid

As pictured below, there's a thumb pressed button which opens a hinged lid. This means that the kettle can easily be filled under a tap with only one hand on it. Notice also that the lid is almost completely vertical. Many other models of kettle have the lid stop at around 45 degrees, so the Honeycomb kettle is superior in this regard.
