The Swan Retro Jug Kettle will give you a blast from the past. Its design is based on one of the original Swan kettles, but its features are very much modern. Such features include a 360 degree base, a 3kW heating element and numerous safety features.

So as to match any kitchen it may find itself in, the Retro Jug Kettle is available in black, blue (pictured), cream, green, grey, pink, red and orange. We particularly like the orange version. The design is brought together by the metal details on the spout, lid and handle. The handle is curved and connected to the top of the kettle only.

Specification

Without further delay, let's take a look at the specification:

• Capacity - 1.5 Litres, or just over 6 cups.
• Dimensions - 17.98cm x 17.98cm x 58.42cm.
• Concealed Heating Element - The heating element is concealed in the bottom of the kettle, so the water chamber is more visually appealing and easier to clean.
• Cordless - The kettle itself is cordless. The only cord is for the base.
• Automatic Shut Off - When the kettle is up to temperature, it will automatically stop boiling.
• Boil Dry Protection - If the kettle boils itself dry, then it will automatically turn off to prevent damage.

Water Gauge

There's an easy to use and convenient water gauge situated under the handle. It marks 2 cups, 4 cups and 6 cups in large writing. It means you can fill the kettle with what you need, therefore allowing it to boil quicker while saving energy in the process. The gauge is pictured below:

Rotational Base

Unlike the kettle the Retro Jug Kettle is based on, there's a 360 degree base. This means the kettle can be placed facing any angle on it (useful for left and right handers).
