The blend of modern and classic design ensures that the Verve Kettle is suitable for modern and classic kitchens. Furthermore, the Verve Kettle is available in three colours, namely white (pictured), cream and black. All three colours are pictured below:

Despite the classic design, the features are very much up to date. We discuss them in detail below, but the most notable are the rapid boiling, the fine mesh limescale filter, the easy view water window and the 360 degree base.

Specification

Let's take a look at what you can expect from the Verve Kettle.

• Capacity - 1.7 Litres. This is standard for most modern kettles, and it serves around 7 cups. Perfect for large families, or busy office kitchens.
• Dimensions - 23.2cm x 22.8cm x 17.4cm.
• Rapid Boil - The heating element utilises 3kW of electricity to give the kettle its ability to rapidly boil water. This is incredibly useful if you want to catch that final cup of tea before leaving the house in the morning.
• Easy Lift Off Lid - Attached to the lid is a ring so the kettle's lid can easily be removed. This is preferable to the alternative hinged lids which are prone to breaking.
• 360 Degree Base - The kettle is cordless, and as such comes with a base. This base is 360 degrees so the kettle can be placed facing any angle on it. It's particularly handy when there are a mixture of left handed and right handed people using it.
• Integrated Cord Storage - Underneath the base is space to store any excess electrical wire.
• Boil Dry Protection - One of the safety features of the kettle is the fact that it will not boil itself dry.

Limescale Filter

Before the water gets to your cup it will go through a fine mesh limescale filter. This limescale filter will prevent limescale, but also other large particles from being poured. It's also easily removable, washable and therefore reusable.

Easy View Water Window

There's a large water window with writing marking 3 cups, 5 cups and the 1.7 litre maximum. It's slightly wider than in most other kettles, making it easier to read. The gauge allows you to judge how much water is inside the kettle so you can bring down the boiling time by filling it with less water. (And it also helps you bring down your electricity bill!)

Overall, a strong kettle. The Verve Kettle's elegant ceramic design has a classic feel to it, but there's also modern features shining through. The shape is definitely modern, as is the rapid boiling. In fact, most of the practical features are modern.
