We particularly like how the stainless steel is used on the spout, lid and around the base. The combination of the matt finish and black plastic details really make the kettle look classy.

But of course this kettle is not only for show. It has a whole host of modern features such as rapid boiling, a push button lid, boil dry protection and a reusable limescale filter.

Specification

The large list of features includes the following:

• Capacity - 1.7 Litres. This equates to about 6-7 drinks, depending on preferences. Most kettles seem to have a 1.5L or 1.7L capacity, so in that sense this kettle is on the larger side. It's suitable for most family sizes.
• Dimensions - 16cm x 21cm x 24cm.
• Rapid Boil - The 3kW electric heating element produces a rapid boil. There will always be time to have that last cup of tea just before leaving the house.
• Push Button Lid - The handle has a button on it which controls the hinged lid. Simply press this button with your thumb whilst holding the kettle and the lid will open in no time at all.
• 360 Degree Base - As with most modern kettles, the Accents Kettle boils on top of a 360 degree base. The kettle will sit at any position on this base to boil. The kettle itself is cordless so it can be taken anywhere in the house without having to be unplugged.
• Cord Storage - Excess base wires can be stashed away underneath the base to reduce worktop clutter.
• Boil Dry Protection - One concern among kettle owners is the water potentially boiling away and causing a fire hazard. This kettle is equipped with boil dry protection which detects such a problem and switches off the heating element.

Removable Limescale Filter

The kettle comes furnished with an in-built limescale filter. It can be slotted out of the kettle quite quickly and washed under a tap as and when needed. Such fine mesh filters are necessary in most places in the UK as the water is full of the minerals which cause limescale.

Water Window & Gauge

There's a water window so that you can see how much water is inside the kettle. On this window is a gauge marking 4 cups, 6 cups and the maximum 1.7 litres. It's especially useful for boiling the minimum amount of water needed so as to reduce boiling time and save on energy.
