Cuisinart Traditional Kettle Review

The Cuisinart Traditional Kettle is a beautifully designed electric kettle which is traditional in appearance, yet modern in functionality. It features a classic stainless steel dome shaped design, with a large elongated spout and retro overhead handle. To complete the design it has a lift off lid and an illuminating power switch to indicate whether it's boiling or not. It's available in four colours, namely stainless steel, light pistachio, frosted pearl silver and vintage rose.

As mentioned, the kettle is classical in appearance only. Some of the modern features it has are rapid boiling, a large spout, a removable and washable filter, dual water windows to allow for efficient boiling, an illuminating power switch and a cordless design.

Cuisinart started in 1971 as a seller of electric food processors. They've expanded their reach and now sell products such as kettles, toasters, grills, coffee grinders, ice cream makers, just to name a few. Specification

• Capacity - 1.7 Litres, or around about 6-8 cups. It's therefore suitable for big families, large gatherings, offices, etc.
• Dimensions - 22cm x 26cm x 20cm.
• Rapid Boil - One of the key features of this kettle is that it boils water rapidly. This is achieved through the use of a 3kW heating element.
• Large Spout - The kettle comes with a well engineered spout. Its slightly larger than normal to ensure less dripping and spilling.
• Filter - The kettle comes equipped with an in-built limescale filter. It's removable and washable as needed, and results in better looking and tasting drinks. It's essential for most of the UK where the tap water is full of limescale causing minerals.
• Dual Water Windows - The front and rear of the kettle have a reasonably large water window. The water gauge on them marks 0.5L (minimum), 1.0L and 1.7L (maximum).
• Illuminating Power Switch - When the kettle's boiling, the power switch will illuminate.
• 360 Degree Base - The kettle is cordless and instead gets its power from a base. The base is 360 degrees meaning the kettle can be placed on it at any angle. This is particularly convenient when left and right handers share a kettle.

Our View

All in all, the Cuisinart Traditional Kettle is an excellent all rounder. It delivers a retro design with its dome shape, overhead handle and long spout. It also boasts a large number of modern features such as a cordless design, rapid boiling, a robust limescale filter and a 360 degree base. This kettle is an easy recommendation.
