The Russell Hobbs 24191 Compact Glass Kettle is a premium kettle. It's a small, compact kettle, perfect for small or cluttered kitchens. Its main feature is the fact that the boiling chamber is made from clear glass, allowing you to watch the water boil.

The kettle also has many of the features which people have come to expect from modern kettles, including a 360 degree base, a push button lid and the energy savings it produces.

Design

The kettle achieves its compactness by being slimmer rather than shorter. In fact, it's around 30% smaller than the Russell Hobbs 21600-10.

Style

In terms of style, the majority of the exterior is coated in brushed stainless steel. Components such as the handle, the lid button and the switch are made from black plastic. For added effect, there's a strip of light around the bottom of the kettle which lights up blue when the kettle is boiling.

Who are Russell Hobbs?

Russell Hobbs famously sell household appliances. In addition to kettles, they also sell toasters, electric hobs, irons, juicers, vacuum cleaners and space heaters. They're a reputable, reliable and trustworthy brand, who have been around since the 1950s.

• Capacity - 0.85 Litres, which is around half of the usual 1.7 litres - not surprising for a compact kettle of this nature. For a similar, but larger kettle, try the Russell Hobbs 21600-10.

• Push Button Lid - The lid is opened by a button on the top of the handle. This allows for the lid to be easily opened using only your thumb, therefore making filling easy.
• Filter - The limescale filter is both removable and washable. It's also reusable. Regularly washing out the filter can help extend the life of the kettle, particularly in hard water areas (i.e. most of England).
• Compact Design - The kettle is compact. As previously mentioned, it's around 30% smaller than the 21600-10 Kettle.
• Energy Saving - When boiling 1 cup (235ml) as opposed to a full kettle, there's an up to 60% energy saving. This saving really adds up if you're an avid tea or coffee drinker, and this can really have a positive knock-on effect on your electricity bill.

Overall, we would recommend the Russell Hobbs 24191 Compact Glass Kettle. Its two key selling points are its compactness and the clear glass, both of which are perfectly implemented. In addition, features such as the 360 degree base, the energy saving measures and the dynamic water filter make the 24191 Kettle perfect for the modern day home.
