The De'Longhi Scultura Kettle is a beautifully designed premium jug kettle with a traditional style, but a high gloss finish and plenty of modern features. You can therefore experience nostalgia while enjoying the modern luxuries this kettle has to offer. Its retro feel is achieved through the use of a lift off lid, an open bottom handle, a large spout and a tiered body.

The list of features is somewhat long, and we go into detail later. A quick run down is as follows: rapid boiling, a lift off lid, a limescale filter, a stainless steel walled and floored interior, a 360 degree swivel base and multiple safety features. Together with the design, this kettle is rather formidable and it can easily be seen why this kettle is worthy of its premium status.

About De'Longhi

De'Longhi are an Italian brand of kitchen and cleaning appliances. They came into being in 1902 and originally manufactured industrial components, but grew into the appliance market and now export worldwide. Among their products are kettles, toasters, ovens, coffee makers, coffee grinders, irons and more.

As promised, we now look at the features in detail:

• Capacity - 1.5 Litres, or 5-7 cups. Perfect for families, big and small. Also suitable for office kitchens.
• Dimensions - 25.2cm x 22.8cm x 22.4cm.
• Rapid Boil - The 3kW heating element allows the kettle to rapidly boil water. Horrendously long waiting times will become a thing of the past.
• Lift Off Lid - The lid is a straight forward lift off lid. No fiddling around with weak and damage prone hinged lids. Simply take off the lid, fill or clean the kettle, and place the lid back on.
• Stainless Steel Interior - The interior walls and floor are made from stainless steel.
• 360 Degree Base - To allow left and right handers to use this kettle together without issue, the kettle comes with a 360 degree swivel base. It's hugely convenient as the kettle can be placed on it and lifted from it with ease.
• Three Levels of Safety Protection - There are three main levels of safety with this kettle. It will switch itself off automatically when the water inside has boiled and also when it's lifted from the base. It will also not boil dry and will switch off if there's insufficient water inside.

Limescale Filter

The kettle comes with a limescale filter which can be removed for cleaning if necessary. It helps your drink taste better and look less discoloured. It's essential for the UK where limescale is a massive problem.

Water Window and Gauge

In order to see how much water is inside, there's a water gauge down the side of the kettle. It marks 0.5L, 0.75L, 1.0L, 1.2L and 1.5L. It's handy as you can see exactly how much water is inside and then boil what you need, resulting in a faster boil and more energy saved.

Recommendation

Given the above, we're left with a good impression of the De'Longhi Scultura Kettle. Its design is certainly retro with the ribbed exterior, lift off lid and open bottom handle all contributing towards the overall vintage feel. The practical features are numerous and together with the style really do make the Scultura Kettle a great kettle. We rate it 4.5 out of 5 stars.
