The Salter Polaris Kettle is a modern electric kettle with an outstanding metallic finish. Available in three colours, namely titanium (pictured), champagne (light pink) and pearl blue (light blue), the Polaris Kettle is designed to match the style of modern kitchens. It's also packed with modern features such as a 3kW rapid boil heating element, a limescale filter, a Strix controller and a 360 degree swivel base.

The Polaris Kettle is well designed. Its metallic finish is uncommon in kettles and is bound to attract positive comments. The lid is controlled by a black push button on its centre. The lid is silver with stainless steel accents. The black plastic handle looks smart and works well with the metallic surface.

Specification

The kettle's features are as follows:

• Capacity - 1.7 Litres, equating to around 6-8 cups. Such a large capacity is suitable for large families and even busy office kitchens.
• Dimensions - 22.1cm x 15.7cm x 23.0cm.
• Rapid Boil - The kettle makes good use of its 3kW electrical heating element in the sense that it produces a fast boil. Waiting around for a lovely and much needed cup of tea will become a thing of the past.
• Limescale Filter - The Polaris Kettle is fitted with a fine limescale filter. It's removable and washable which is perfect as it can be reused without issue.
• Strix Controller - The kettle uses a Strix controller. These are known for their reliability and durability.
• 360 Degree Base - The kettle itself is cordless and instead boils on a base. The base is a 360 degree base which is extremely convenient as the kettle can be lifted from it and placed back down on it without having to align it.
• Boil Dry Protection - There's a boil dry sensor inside the kettle to stop it from boiling all of its water away.

Water Gauge

There's a water window with a gauge on it. It marks 0.5L (minimum), 1.0L, 1.5L and 1.7L (maximum). It allows you to fill the kettle with the amount of water required, therefore saving energy by boiling the water for less time.

Salter also sell a Polaris Toaster which is designed in the same style as the kettle. It's also available in all three colours: titanium, champagne and blue pearl.

Our View

Given the above, the Salter Polaris Kettle ticks both the style and functionality boxes. Its beautifully sleek metallic design with stainless steel accents really bring everything together and make the kettle look lovely. The style works exceptionally well with modern kitchens, but it would also suit classic kitchens too. The features are numerous, and the rapid boiling is among the most notable. Overall, we give this kettle 4 out of 5 stars.
