Salter Vega Kettle Review

The Salter Vega Kettle is a modern electric jug kettle with a champagne coloured metallic finish, slim design and a double layered housing for a cool touch. We particularly like how the champagne coloured layer comes up to the spout and how it leaves a stainless steel gap. Together with the sturdy black plastic handle, the kettle looks very stylish indeed.

From a practical perspective, the Salter Vega Kettle has many modern features, the most notable of which are its rapid boil facility and its double layered surface. Other important features include the removable and washable limescale filter, the easy access push button lid, the Strix controller, the 360 degree base and the automatic shut off function.

• Capacity - 1.7 Litres. It therefore boils about 6-8 cups in one go. This is plenty for big families. Such a large capacity even makes the kettle suitable for busy offices.
• Dimensions - 21.7cm x 17.0cm x 25.5cm.
• Rapid Boil - The 3kW electrical heating element gives the kettle its ability to rapidly boil water. No longer will you have to wait around excessively while the kettle boils.
• Filter - The kettle has a removable and washable limescale filter. It's a fine mesh filter so it will stop limescale and other large particles. A filter such as this is essential in most of the UK where the tap water is full of limescale causing minerals.
• Push Button Lid - On the kettle is an ergonomically placed push button which, when pressed, flips the lid open to allow for easy filling.
• Double Layered - As mentioned above, the outside of the kettle is coated with two layers. The outside is therefore cool to the touch.
• Strix Controller - The kettle is controlled through the use of a Strix controller. These are particularly known for their durability and reliability.
• Automatic Shut Off - The kettle has a sensor which detects when the kettle's up to temperature. If it is, then the power switch will flick off.
• Boil Dry Protection - The kettle also has a boil dry sensor, so that if the water level drops too low then the kettle will turn itself off.

360 Degree Base

Like most modern kettles, this kettle has a 360 degree base for easy placing and lifting. Such bases are suitable for left and right handed users.
